14 Cavaliers Score in Women's Lacrosse Win at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team got a complete team effort in today's 18-3 win at Cedar Crest College, as 14 Cavaliers marked the scoring column.

With the win, the Blue and White improved to 9-4 overall and a perfect 7-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.  With just two games remaining in the league slate, the Cavaliers maintain their one game lead in the conference standings.

The Cavaliers scored early and often, as they took control from the opening whistle.  Sophomore Gabby Lee opened the scoring goal two minutes into the action and in less than three minutes of play, Cabrini expanded its lead to 4-0.  The lead swelled to 12-0 with 12:27 left in the first half before settling at 13-0 at the break.

The Cavaliers exerted their muscle in the opening 30 minutes, as they outshot the Falcons 28-2 in the first half, with a 22-2 advantage in shots on goal.  Sixteen of the 20 Cavaliers who saw action recorded at least on shot, with junior Maureen Sullivan leading the way with a career high six shots, including the first shot attempt of her career, one more than junior Jenn Robinson.

Sophomore Sasha Wozniak paced the Cavaliers' attack with a game high four points, pairing two goals and two assists.  Robinson, Lee and fellow and sophomore Emily Crouse matched Wozniak with two goals each.

Among the players with one goal in the victory, freshman Katie Kucia notched her first collegiate goals, while seniors Krista Hoffman and Dana Peterson scored their first goals of the season.

Robinson also scooped a game high seven ground balls, while freshmen Emma Rodner-Tims and Devon Scharf secured six each.  Senior Mo O'Connell controlled a career high six draws to go with her second goal of the season.  Sophomore Jackie Neary matched four draw controls with a goal, while Robinson corralled three draws.

Junior goaltender Megan Barlow recorded four saves to earn the victory in the Blue and White cage, while Scharf recorded five stops in 36 minutes of relief.

Regina Gill paired a goal and four ground balls for Cedar Crest (0-13, 0-8 CSAC), while goaltender Nicole Rivera notched 13 saves in the loss.

The Blue and White will travel to Hackettstown, N.J. on Thursday for its final road conference tilt, as it visits Centenary College (5-8, 4-3 CSAC).  Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
