RADNOR, Pa. - The men's tennis team welcomed the Neumann Knights to Dixon Courts today, where the Knights earned a 6-3 win. The loss ends the Cavaliers' season at 2-13 overall and 2-5 in the CSAC.
The loss also closes the careers of two Cabrini seniors, Bruce Overbay and Mike Halbherr. The pair have combined for nine wins in their time donning the Blue and White.
Sophomore Alijah Broadnax and junior Sean Jaeger scored an 8-6 number one singles win, improving the duo to 7-7 on the year and 5-1 in CSAC play.
The Knights won the next two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.
Broadnax and Jaeger continued their strong play in singles. Broadnax improved to 6-1 in the CSAC, after scoring a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 number one singles victory, while Jaeger followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the number two flight.
The Knights won the next four singles matches, and in doing so, clinched the fourth seed in this year's CSAC Championship Tournament. The Knights will play the number one seeded Gwynedd Mercy Griffins on Friday at a time to be determined.
