ALLENTOWN, PA – The Cabrini women's tennis team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference play with today's 6-3 victory at Cedar Crest College.
With the win, the Cavaliers improved to 2-1 on the season.
The Blue and White opened the match with a trio of doubles victories. The duo of senior
Elena Conway and junor
Maggie Javitt scored an 8-5 win at number one singles, while junior
Katie Muska and sophomore
Lexi Douglass cruised to an 8-1 number three doubles win.
In the number two flight, junior
Stefanie Barkofski and freshman
Lucy Travers battled their way to a 9-7 triumph, giving the Cavaliers a 3-0 leading heading into singles play.
The clubs evenly split the six singles matches, each claiming straight set victories.
Conway anchored the Blue and White with a 6-1, 6-4 win at number one singles, while Barkofski and Douglass scored matching 6-1, 6-1 wins at the numbers four and six flights.
Cabrini will return to action on Saturday, as it travels to Keystone College (1-1, 1-1 CSAC). First serve is slated for 12pm in La Plume, PA.
