Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated in Conference Play with 3-1 Victory Over Mighty Macs

Radnor, PA - The Cabrini women's soccer team reeled off their sixth straight win this evening with a 3-1 victory over the visiting Immaculata Mighty Macs.

The Cavs were led offensively by sophomore Katelyn Gilinger who made her two shots count as she picked up the Cavs first two goals. Freshman Brittany Purdy notched the last goal for the Blue and White, her second of the season.

As mentioned, Gilinger led off the scoring in the 10th minute when she received a perfectly placed through ball from senior Taylor Tralie and was able to beat the Mighty Mac's keeper in a one on one.

Two minutes later Immaculata evened the score with a header from freshman Riley Rudd. The 1-1 score would hold steady into the intermission.

Just 28 seconds out of the break, Gilinger and the Cavs retook the lead as the sophomore beat her defender and pushed it past the left side of the keeper for her second goal of the game.

Purdy put the game on ice for the Blue and White as her 81st minute goal gave the Cavs a comfortable 3-1 advantage with under ten minutes to play.

All told, the Cavs held an 18-9 advantage in shots as well as a 5-4 advantage in corners.

With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 8-1-3 overall and 6-0-2 in the CSAC. They will next travel to Centenary Univeristy on Saturday, Oct. 14. Game time is slated for 4pm.
