ROSEMONT, PA – The Cavaliers rallied from a 12 point second half deficit and had two chances for the game winning shot, but after the final buzzer, the Cabrini men's basketball team found itself on the short end of a 79-78 loss at Rosemont.
The loss snapped the Blue and White's eight game win streak and dropped the club to 11-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 15-5 overall.
Six Cavaliers scored on the night, with four finishing the game in double figures. Junior
Tyheim Monroe led the way with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Senior
Ryan Charity hit 8-10 from the field for 18 points.

DeVahnte Mosley chipped in with 14 points, while freshman
Keith Blassingale added 11 points, including 3-4 from three point range.
The Cavaliers scored the first five points of the night before the Ravens rallied for 11 straight. Cabrini responded, evening the score at 11 and 13. Again, Rosemont had an answer, breaking the deadlock with an 8-0 run.
The Rosemont lead swung between 7-11 points for the final eight minutes of the opening half, as a pair of Ravens' free throws sent Cabrini into the halftime break down 41-30.
Cabrini wasted little time slicing into its deficit, as Charity scored the first six points of the second half. The Ravens regained their composure and pushed their lead to a game high 56-44 at the 13:15 mark.
The Cavaliers responded with a 17-3 run of their own, as three consecutive lay-ups by Mosley and Blassingale gave Cabrini a 63-59 lead with just south of seven minutes to play.
Both teams exchanged buckets over the next several minutes, as the lead changed six times in three minutes. Back to back threes from Blassingale pushed the Cabrini lead to 75-70 with 3:10 on the clock.
Despite going scoreless for the next two minutes, the Blue and White maintained a 78-74 lead with 51 seconds to play.
A late turnover proved costly for the Cavaliers, as it led to the eventual game-winning lay-up with 16 seconds on the clock.
The Cavaliers had two chances in the final seconds. Another Cabrini turnover led to a pair of Rosemont free throws with four seconds left. The Ravens missed both, giving the Cavaliers one final possession, down a point, but a last second shot missed the mark.
The Blue and White committed a season-high 19 turnovers, which led to 27 Rosemont points. The Cavaliers also struggled from the free throw line, shooting a season-low .440 (11-25).

Deryl Bagwell finished the night with eight points and six assists, while classmate
Kane McGovern notched six points.
Clayton Wolfe led Rosemont (11-9, 9-4 CSAC) with 20 points, while Khai Robert and Charles Presley combined for 25 points.
The Cavaliers will look to begin another win streak on Saturday, when they welcome Keystone College (6-14, 3-10) to Nerney Field House. Game time is slated for 1pm.
