COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Cabrini men's tennis team found itself on the short end of a 9-0 loss at Ursinus University today. The loss dropped the Blue and White to 1-4 on the year.
The Cavaliers could not find their collective footing against the Bears, who entered the match ranked No. 19 in the ITA Atlantic South Region rankings.
Cabrini fell behind early, as it dropped each of the doubles matches. The Blue and White's number two team of freshmen
Matthew DeMaria and
Charles LaMantia lost by a score of 8-1, as did its number three duo of sophomore
Nick Scaramuzza and freshman
Nick Tilley.
Cabrini's number on pair of senior
Sean Jaeger and
Alijah Broadnax suffered an 8-0 loss.
The Cavaliers could not reverse their fortunes, as the action turned to the singles matches. Cabrini dropped the numbers one, two and three singles matches in straight sets, before losing the final three via supersets.
After back to back matches, Cabrini will have a day to regroup before returning to action on Friday, when it welcomes Albright College (1-3) to the Dixon Tennis Courts. First serve is slated for 4pm.
