RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's tennis team improved to 8-5 on the year and 8-2 in the spring with today's 7-2 win over Penn State-Brandywine today at the Dixon Tennis Courts.
The Cavaliers built an early lead, claiming two of the day's three doubles matches.
The number one team of senior
Sean Jaeger and junior
Alijah Broadnax scored an 8-2 win, while the freshman pair of
Matthew DeMaria and
Charles LaMantia earned an 8-0 win in the number two flight.
The Blue and White continued its solid play as the focus moved to the day's singles action. Broadnax, Jaeger and DeMaria cruised to matching 6-0, 6-0 wins at numbers one, two and four singles, respectively.
LaMantia scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number three singles, while sophomore
Nick Scaramuzza captured the number five singles match 6-3, 6-2.
The Cavaliers will close their Colonial States Athletic Conference slate on Wednesday, when they host Gwynedd Mercy (2-3, 2-2 CSAC).
A victory would complete an undefeated conference slate for the Cavaliers and secure the number one seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament.
