Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Cabrini men's tennis team kicked off their 2017-18 season with a strong showing in day one of the Kings Invitational.
Freshmen
Nick Falcone,
Ben Mead, and
Tripp Como all advanced to the finals, to be played tomorrow, for the Blue and White in singles.
Falcone (No. 3 singles) and Mead (No. 4 singles) both advanced on a first round bye, followed by a 6-2, 6-2 decision over their respective opponents. Como (No. 5 singles), meanwhile advanced via first round bye followed by a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
In doubles action, Mead and Falcone landed in the finals for No. 2 doubles with a 8-4 quarterfinal victory over DeSales. Como and sophomore
Matthew DeMaria advanced to the final round in No. 3 doubles with an 8-1 quarterfinal win followed by an 8-2 semifinal victory over DeSales.
The Blue and White will look to finish strong at day two of the King's Invitational tomorrow, which is slated to begin at 9am.
