RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team continues to search for its first goal of 2017, as the Cavaliers suffered a 3-0 loss to DeSales University tonight at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The nonconference loss dropped the Blue and White to 0-2-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 2-1.
The teams played an even first half, notching seven shots each. DeSales used a 6-0 advantage in first half corner kicks to create additional chances, but the Blue and White defense was up to the task.
DeSales took control of the game in the second half, as it outshot Cabrini 11-4. The Bulldogs finally broke through the Cavaliers' defense in the 64th minute.
The Blue and White struggled to mount a comeback, mustering just two shots over the final 35 minutes of action. DeSales took advantage, adding tallies in the 85th and 89th minutes.

Jared Irwin accounted for four of Cabrini's 11 shots on the day, while freshman
Dani Acevedo and senior
Joe Fiore added two each. Sophomore goaltender
Mike Gould recorded three shots in the loss.
Three Bulldogs marked the scoring column, while junior Michael Kirby notched two assists. Senior goaltender posted five saves to record his second consecutive shutout.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, as they welcome Randolph-Macon College (3-0) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is slated for 3pm.
