RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team extended its win streak to five consecutive matches tonight, as it scored a 1-0 victory over Marywood University at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
With tonight's win, the Cavaliers improved to 7-5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic East Conference.
The ball stayed predominantly in the middle of the pitch over the game's in the first half, as the teams combined for just three shots.
Cabrini and Marywood found their offensive rhythms after the break, combining for 18 shots and seven corner kicks.
The Blue and White took advantage of a Marywood defensive lapse in the 78th minute, when a Pacer defender touched the ball in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick.
Senior
Jared Irwin stepped to the spot and put the ball into the net for his first goal of the season.
Cabrini continued to press for another goal, as it recorded three shots on goal and two corner kicks in a 60 second span after Irwin's tally.
The Cavaliers' defense was also up the task, holding the Pacers to just one shot over the game's final 22 minutes.

Sophomore goaltender
Anthony Zampirri notched a pair of saves to seal his league-leading fourth shutout of the season.
Freshman Aram Aghababian led Marywood (1-9-1, 0-2 Atlantic East) with two of its eight shots, while junior goaltender Mike Gallagher recorded six saves.
The Cavaliers will hit the road on Saturday, as they travel to Aston, PA to face Neumann University (5-4-2, 1-0-1 Atlantic East). Kickoff is slated for 1pm.
