RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini swim teams returned to the Dixon Center Pool tonight to face a tough and deep Ursinus College team. Despite the final scores, the Cavaliers posted one of their best performances in the series against the Bears.
The Blue and White women suffered a 128-69 loss to No. 17 Ursinus, while the Cabrini men fell 125-77.
The Blue and White men opened the night on a high note, as the quartet of sophomore
Kurt Schuehler, freshman
Marc Consiglio, junior
Matt Schaeffer and freshman
Mac Granto combined to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.15).
Schaeffer paced the Cavaliers with a pair of wins. The junior posted winning times in the 50-yard freestyle (22.40) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.44).
Sophomore
Cameron Mousley claimed victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.39) and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle.
Fellow sophomore
Nick Conroy added a second place finish in the 400-yard individual medley. Consiglio posted third place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke.
Junior
Lauren Finnegan posted the lone event victory for the women, reaching the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle (56.43). The junior also recorded a second place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
Senior
Marissa Loro finished second in the 200-yard butterfly and third in the 1,000 yard freestyle, while freshman
Rachel Marek paired second and third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yad breaststroke, respectively.
Junior
Katherine Buckman added a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.
The Cavaliers will return their focus back to training until next Friday, when they travel to Annville, PA to face Lebanon Valley College. The action will get underway at 6pm.
