Scranton, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team played a hard fought match agains the host Marywood University Pacers, but were ultimately edged by an 8-1 final.
The Cavaliers picked up their lone match victory in No. 1 doubles play where senior's
Stefanie Barkofski and
Maggie Javitt came away with an 8-5 final. The duo improved to 4-4 in dual matches this season, highlighted by an impressive 4-1 record against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) competition.
While the Blue and White didn't secure another team point, they did put up a serious fight in each match. Barkofski and Javitt, in particular, went to three sets in their respective No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches. Barkofski dropped a 6-1, 5-7, 10-6 match, while Javitt fell by a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 final.
Sophomore's
Lattana Sithara and
Sydney Lynch were narrowly edged in No. 2 doubles as well, as the tandem played to an 8-4 decision.
After today's action, the Blue and White move to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the CSAC. They will get a short break before hosting the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins on April 3rd at the Dixon Tennis Courts. Match time is slated for 3:30pm.
