Hilton Head, SC - The Cabrini men's tennis team dropped a hard fought battle to Brewton-Parker College as the Barons ultimately edged the Cavaliers in the final match of the day to earn the 5-4 victory. 

In singles play, senior Alijah Broadnax took down Brewton-Parker's Paul Taylor by a 6-2, 6-4 decision to put the Cavaliers up early. 

After freshman Vince Paetown dropped a close decision (1-6, 6-2, 6-1) in No. 2 singles, classmate Nick Falcone put the Blue and White back in front thanks to a come from behind 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory in No. 3 singles. 

The Barons would respond as they reeled off match wins in No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to take a 4-2 lead heading into doubles play. 

The duo of Broadnax and sophomore CJ LaMantia secured a key victory in No. 1 doubles via a 9-8, 7-2 final. Paetow and Falcone came up clutch in No. 2 doubles as they evened the score at 4-4 thanks to their 8-5 decision, forcing a decisive No. 3 doubles match. 

Sophomores Nick Tilly and Matt DeMaria played a tough match against their BPC foes, but the Barons ultimately came away with the 8-3 match victory and the 5-4 team victory. 

With the loss the Cavaliers move to 3-3 overall and will look to pick things back up on Saturday, March 3rd when they take on Baldwin Wallace University to cap their trip to Hilton Head, SC. Game time is slated for 5pm.
