Langhorne, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team turned in a dominant performance Wednesday afternoon to top host Cairn University by a 7-2 final.
The Blue and White took two of three doubles matches behind strong performances from seniors
Stefanie Barkofski and
Maggie Javitt, who scored an 8-2 decision in the No. 1 slot.
Sophomore's
Lattana Sithara and
Sydney Lynch edged their Highlander counterparts by an 8-3 final in No. 2 doubles, while freshmen
Julia LaMarra and
Miranda Smith turned in a strong effort, but ultimately fell by an 8-4 final in No. 3 doubles.
The Cavs went on to take five of six matches in singles play, led by Barkofski's 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 1 slot. Sithara nearly matched her teammate as she dropped just two games in No. 3 singles, while Javitt (6-4, 6-1), Lynch (6-2, 6-4) and Lamarra (6-2, 4-6, 10-7) earned key victories in No. 2, 4 and 5 singles, respectively.
The Blue and White will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Collegeville, PA on Wednesday, April 11th to square off with Ursinus College in the final nonconference match of the season. Match time is slated for 4pm.
