Philadelphia, PA - The Cabrini men's tennis team earned the top seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) tournament for the second consecutive season following a perfect 7-0 record against conference opponents. The Blue and White will look to build upon their strong regular season as they aim for their second straight CSAC Championship, but will have to top the league's best teams one more time.
Scouting the No. 1 Cabrini Cavaliers
As mentioned, the Cavs finished with a 7-0 mark against conference opponents and a 10-5 record overall.
Cabrini is also the only team in the conference to beat all other CSAC postseason teams as they took a 9-0 victory over Clarks Summit, a 7-2 victory over Neumann and an 8-1 victory over Gwynedd Mercy.
The Blue and White were also well represented in the 2018 CSAC End of Season Awards as head coach

Broadnax (First Team Doubles/First Team Singles/Sportsmanship Team) joins LaMantia (Player of the Year/ First Team Doubles/First Team Singles), along with freshmen

Winners of six of their last seven, the Defenders will enter the postseason with an impressive 8-2 overall record, including a 6-1 mark against conference opponents. Their lone loss in conference play, however, was to the Cavaliers by a decisive 9-0 score.
Outside of their matchup with the Cavs, Summit has rolled through CSAC play, highlighted by an 8-1 victory over No. 4 seeded Gwynedd Mercy and a 5-1 victory over No. 3 seeded Neumann.
The Defenders are led by senior Jason Muller and junior Yancy Butler. Muller has exclusively played in the No. 1 flight and posted an impressive 6-2 record. Butler, having played in flights three, four and five, has compiled a 6-1 record in singles play. The pair both garnered All-CSAC First Team Singles honors following their performance on the court.
Scouting the No. 3 Neumann Knights
The Knights ended their season as winners of five of their last six matches, with their only loss coming at the hands the Blue and White via a 7-2 decision. Despite the loss, Neumann finished the regular season with a 7-2 overall record, including a 5-2 mark in league play.
Neumann captured an impressive 7-2 victory over the No. 4 seeded Griffins, but fell by way of the aforementioned 5-1 final against the No. 2 seeded Defenders.
The Knights are led by junior Jordan Collins who landed on the singles All-CSAC First Team after finishing the year with an impressive 5-1 record against CSAC opponents.
Collins and junior Rod Bradbury earned All-CSAC Second Team honors following a 3-1 CSAC record in doubles play.
Scouting the No. 4 Gwynedd Mercy Griffins
Gwynedd Mercy ended their season on a bit of a slide as they lost three of their last four matches following a hot start to the year.
Despite losing to all three of the other teams in the CSAC tournament, the Griffins finished their regular season with a 4-3 record in conference play and a 5-5 overall record. They will look for a stronger showing in their semifinal matchup against the Cavaliers than their regular season clash, as the Blue and White cruised to an 8-1 final.
Leading the Griffins is rookie Max Schneider, who was named the CSAC Rookie of the Year and All-CSAC Second Team following his impressive inaugural season. The freshman finished the year 8-2 overall, including a 5-2 record in league play, doing his damage across flights one and two.
Junior Brian Irwin joined Schneider on the singles All-CSAC Second Team after playing to a 5-2 record against CSAC opponents.
