Radnor, PAÂ - The Cabrini women's tennis team rolled over the visiting Notre Dame of Maryland Gators this afternoon to an 8-1 victory.Â
The Blue and White cruised through doubles play as they surrendered a total of two games across No. 1, 2 and 3 doubles combined. Seniors
Stefanie Barkofski and
Maggie Javitt led things off with an 8-1 victory in the No. 1 slot, while sophomores
Lattana Sithara and
Sydney Lynch followed with an 8-1 victory of their own.Â
The freshmen duo of
Miranda Smith and
Julia LaMarra swept their counterparts in the No. 3 slot, securing the 8-0 victory.Â
Barkofski and Sithara both edged their Gator opponents in No. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, as Barkofski secured the 6-2, 7-5 win and Sithara the 6-3, 7-5 victory.Â
Javitt and Lynch, meanwhile, rolled in No. 2 and 4 singles, as each swept their opposition by a 6-0, 6-0 final.Â
Lamarra nearly followed suit as she captured a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 5 slot.Â
Smith forced three sets in No. 6 singles, but was unable to hold on for the victory as Gators' Davida Rogers earned a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.Â
With the win the Cavs improve to 4-7 overall and 3-4 in the CSAC. They will look to keep things rolling when they travel to Clarks Summit University on Saturday, April 7th to take on the Defenders. Match time is slated for 11am.Â
