Box Score RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini men's tennis team earned a 9-0 sweep over the visiting Eastern University Eagles this afternoon.
The Cavs started quickly as they swept through doubles play, led by the sophomore duo of
Nick Falcone and
Ben Mead. The pair secured an 8-3 victory in the no. 1 flight.
Junior
CJ LaMantia and sophomore
Vince Paetow picked up an 8-2 decision in the no. 2 flight, while junior's
Matthew DeMaria and
Nick Tilley capped doubles competition with a matching 8-2 victory of their own.
LaMantia rolled in no. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 final over the Eagles' Nick Humes, while Pateow earned a hard fought 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 10-4 victory to keep the Cavs shutout intact.
Falcone and DeMaria both cruised to comfortable victories in no. 4 and no. 6 singles, respectively, via a 6-4, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 decision. Tilley and Mead capped the Cavs sweep with wins in the no. 3 and no. 5 flight to secure the Cavaliers' fourth victory of the season.
As mentioned, the Cavs improve to 4-0 following today's match and will look to keep things rolling when they travel to Jefferson University on Friday, March 15th. Match time is slated for 2:30pm.
