Box Score LANGHORNE, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team couldn't fend off the hosting Cairn University Highlanders this afternoon as they fell by a 9-0 final.

Raechel Aviles played their Cairn opponents tough in No. 1 doubles, but were ultimately edged by a close 8-5 final.

Elizabeth Baddoo fell by an 8-2 final in No. 2 doubles, while sophomore
Miranda Smith and freshman
Alyssa Madden were topped by an 8-4 final in the No. 3 slot.
The Highlanders would go on to sweep singles play as well, but would have to earn it as Sithara and Smith highlighted the action after each forced a tiebreaker. Sithara would drop the first set 6-2, but would battle back and take the second set 6-4 to force the tie break. Cairn's Lauren Griffin would hang on in the tiebreaker, earning the 12-10 set victory and No. 4 singles match victory.
Smith, meanwhile, took the opening set 6-2, but the Highlanders' Ellie Santos rallied for a 6-3 win in the second set to force a decisive third set. Santos would hang and take the tie break by a 7-4 final.
Madden also put together a strong match in No. 5 singles, but was topped by a 6-1, 7-5 final. Baddoo (6-1, 6-4), Aviles (6-1, 6-1) and Lynch (6-1, 6-0) capped singles play for the Blue and white in flights No. 3, 2, and 1, respectively.
Following today's action, the Cavaliers move to 0-7 overall. They will look to turn things around on Tuesday, March 26th when they travel to Rosemont, PA to take on the Ravens. Match time is slated for 3:30pm.
