MADISON, NJ – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team extended its 2019 campaign one more day, as the Cavaliers held on for a 14-11 victory at FDU-Florham in the semifinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament.

The victory improved the Blue and White to 13-8 overall. Cabrini will face Drew in Sunday's championship game, as the Rangers topped Marymount 16-5. Game time is set for 12pm at FDU-Florham in Madison, NJ.

Freshman Dana Carlson led the Cabrini attack with six goals and four draw controls, senior Avery Murphy and junior Lauren Hughes added three goals each.  Murphy also notched 14 draw controls and three caused turnovers,

Murphy's three marker give her 233 for her career, tying Lacie Doubet atop the program's career goal list.

Sophomore Ashley Tutzauer added seven points, including five assists, to go with four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Classmate Taylor Dimmerling chipped in with two helpers, two caused turnovers and two ground balls, while freshman Shea Neary paired three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Freshman Sam Hamalak continued her impressive rookie campaign with seven saves in the win.

The Blue and White trailed 2-1 five minutes into the game, when it gained control of the action.

Tutzauer's second goal of the day sparked the Blue and White to a run of eight unanswered goals, including six by Carlson and Murphy.  By the time Hannah Bhend ended the Devils' nearly 19 minute scoring drought, the Cavaliers owned a comfortable 9-2 lead.

Carlson added a goal late in the first stanza, sending Cabrini into the half with a 10-3 lead.

FDU-Florham looked to make its comeback in the second half. The Devils netted three of the first four goals in the second half, pulling to within 11-6 with 20 minutes to play.

Both teams alternated goals for much of the half, with Cabrini maintaining its five goal cushion.

Trailing 14-8, the Devils took advantage of Cabrini's only two yellow cards of the game, gaining a two-woman advantage with 3:35 to play. FDU-Florham took full advantage, as Kathleen Petrucelli scored back to back goals.

The Devils added a late tally, pulling within 14-11 with 32 seconds to play, but the deficit proved to be too much.

Petrucelli led the Devils (10-9) with four goals and two assists, while Caroline Pape paired two goals, two assists, fove ground balls and five draw controls. Goaltender Megan Nemeth suffered the loss despite tallying 15 saves.

Kendall Hartt paced Drew in its semifinal win over Marymount, posting five goals and seven draw controls. Lauren Cassella paired three goals and two assists, while Allie DiDario added two goals, two helper, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and six draw controls.

The Rangers built a 3-0 lead just 2:30 after the opening whistle and led 7-1 with 4:34 left in the first. Hartt's third goal came just before the halftime buzzer and sent Drew into the break with a commanding 8-2 lead.

Drew didn't slow down after the break, outscoring the Saints 7-2 in the opening 21 minutes of the second half.
