Box Score READING, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team dropped a nonconference match this afternoon to the hosting Alvernia University Golden Wolves by a 9-0 final.
Senior
Sydney Lynch and sophomore
Raechel Aviles fell by an 8-0 final in No. 1 doubles, while senior
Lattana Sithara and sophomore
Alyssa Madden matched their score in the No. 2 slot.
Junior
Miranda Smith and sophomore
Zanaia Brown earned the lone game for the Cavs in No. 3 doubles, but ultimately were edged by an 8-1 final.
Smith, Brown and Aviles highlighted singles play for the Blue and White as each won multiple games. Smith battled in the No. 5 slot as she won a total of four games, but was outlasted by the Golden Wolves Leah Kemper for the 6-1, 3-6 final. Brown and Aviles also hung tough for the Cavs, but were ultimately topped by matching 2-6, 1-6 finals.
Following today's action the Cavaliers move to 0-1, but will look to collect their first victory of the Fall on Friday, September 13th when they host Delaware Valley University at the Dixon Tennis Courts. Match time is slated for 3:30pm.
