Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Cabrini men's tennis team kicked off their Fall schedule this weekend at the King's College Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, PA. 

Two Cavaliers made it to the final round in singles competition, while all two doubles pairs advanced to the finals. 

In singles play, juniors Ben Mead and Vince Paetow highlighted the Cavs performance on day one as each advanced to the Championship round of No. 4 and No. 3 singles, respectively. 

Mead captured a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the opening round and followed it up with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the semifinal round. The junior was ultimately topped in the final after a thrilling 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 final. Paetow, meanwhile rallied for a 6-1, 7-6 winner in the first round and followed it up with a 7-6, 6-1 victory in the semifinal. 

Junior Nick Falcone scored a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the first round of No. 2 singles, but was edged 7-6, 6-2 in the semifinal. Seniors Matthew DeMaria and CJ LaMantia were both topped in the opening round of No. 5 and No. 1 singles, respectively. 

As mentioned, the Blue and White found their stride in doubles action as two duos advanced to the final round of competition. Paetow and Mead exited the No. 3 doubles competition as victors as the pair used a narrow 8-7 victory to earn the win. 

LaMantia and Falcone collected a comfortable 8-1 victory in the semifinal of No. 1 doubles, but eventually fell in the championship by an 8-5 final. 

Following this weekend's action, the Cavs will pick things back up on Thursday, September 19th when they travel to Reading, PA to take on PSU-Berks. Match time is slated for 3:30pm.
