Box Score 2 WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Cabrini women's tennis team kicked off their fall slate this afternoon at the King's College Invitational.
The duo of sophomore
Raechel Aviles and senior
Sydney Lynch battled in No. 1 doubles, but ultimately fell by an 8-2 final. Junior
Miranda Smith and sophomore
Zanaia Brown also fell by an 8-2 final in the No. 2 slot. Freshman
Natalie Bell and sophomore
Fanta Bility rounded out the Cavs in the No. 3 slot, but were topped by an 8-0 final.
Lynch opened singles play in flight No. 1, but was edged in straight sets, 8-0, 8-0. Aviles took two games in the first set of No. 2 singles, but was ultimately topped by a 6-2, 6-0 final.
Smith fell in the No. 3 flight, 6-0, 6-1, while Brown (6-0, 6-0), Bility (6-1, 6-1) and Bell (6-0, 6-0) rounded out the Cavaliers in singles play.
Cabrini will next face Alvernia University on Tuesday, September 10 when they travel to Reading, PA. Match time is slated for 3:30pm.
