RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball season came to a conclusion tonight, as the Cavaliers suffered a 91-86 loss to Immaculata in the first round of the Atlantic East Conference tournament.
The loss ends the Blue and White's season with a record of 9-17.
The defeat also closes the career of senior
Keith Blassingale, who scored 1,090 points in three seasons in the Blue and White and more than 1,600 through his four year career.
Blassingale led the Cavaliers in tonight's loss, pairing 25 points, including 23 in the second half, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 38 minutes of action. Sophomore
Voshon Mack added 24 points, with 19 coming after the break.
Junior
DJ Smith added 13 points, while classmate
Justin Gans tallied eight. Sophomore
Ryan Byars also secured a team-high eight rebounds.
The Mighty Macs led for the majority of the first half, extending their lead to a game-high nine points a the 12:17 mark. The Cavaliers never allowed Immaculata to pull away, as the home side grabbed its first lead of the night at 31-30 on freshman

Immaculata regained its three point lead before Smith made his mark on the game. The junior went on a personal 7-0 run to close the half, as Cabrini carried a 38-34 lead into the halftime break.
The Cavaliers clung to their slim lead through much of the second half, as Blassingale found his way to the rim on three consecutive possessions to push the Blue and White's lead to 64-52 with 10:54 to play.
Over the next five minutes, the Mighty Macs turned to the three ball to regain control of the action. Immaculata connected on four three pointers during a 17-4 run that culminated with a lay-up by junior Asa Kitchen that gave the visitors a 69-68 lead with six minutes to play.
The Cavaliers pulled to within one point twice in the final minutes, but Immaculata always had an answer. A Kitchen three point play pushed the visitor's lead to 84-80 at the 1:22 mark, but Mack's fast break bucket pulled Cabrini back to within two points.
Following a Cabrini timeout, the Blue and White needed just one stop for a chance to tie or take the lead, but, again, the Mighty Macs turned to their deep shooting touch, as senior Jordan Ambrose connected on his sixth triple of the night, pushing Immaculata's lead to 87-82 with just 25 seconds to play.
After holding Immaculata to just 3-10 from beyond the arc in the first half, the Cavaliers saw the Mighty Macs connect on 8-14 after the break and shoot north of .510 from the floor.
While Cabrini shot a robust .524 in the second half, it connected on just 3-14 from deep and 1-5 from the free throw line.
Amnbrose led all scorers with 26 point, including 23 in the second half, while junior Brandon McCullough added 19 points. Sophomore John McArthur and freshman Tyson Tillery recorded double-doubles, combining for 27 points and 22 rebounds.
The Mighty Macs (10-16) will visit number one seed Wesley (16-9) in Thursday's semifinal round. Number two seed Gwynedd Mercy (19-6) will face third seed Marymount (17-9) in the other semifinal. Thursday's winners will meet in Saturday's championship game.
