Men's Soccer Celebrates Senior Night with 4-0 Win

RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team celebrated its seniors with a 4-0 victory over Marymount University tonight at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The Cavaliers' sixth consecutive victory improved the team to 11-4-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the Atlantic East Conference. By virtue of their unblemished conference record, the Blue and White have secured the number one seed in next week's Atlantic East Conference Tournament, along with a first round bye and home field advantage.

On Tuesday, Cabrini will host the lowest remaining seed after Saturday's opening round matches at a time yet to be determined.

Prior to tonight's kickoff, the Cavaliers honored its six graduating seniors, Dakota Bauer, Ben Cahill, Josh Cunningham, Zach Garcia, Christian Rafter and Ray Wilson.

In their collective 261 appearances in the Blue and White, they have contributed 68 points on 24 goals, including 10 game winning goals, and 20 assists.

As a group, these student-athletes have led the Blue and White to 34 victories, including a 16-2 mark in Atlantic East Conference play, the top seed in three consecutive conference tournament and a pair of championship game appearances.

Once again, it was the seniors who powered the Blue and White offense in tonight's victory.

Rafter sparked the first goal, as his 14th minute pass found sophomore Nick LoBiondo, who turned the corner and found the back of the net for his eighth goal of the season.

The Cavaliers added to their advantage late in the opening frame, when senior Tyler Jankowski's corner kick service found Cunningham for the first of his two goals on the night.

The Saints created a good scoring chance in the final minute of the first half, but a pair of saves by sophomore goaltender MJ Graham kept the visitors off the score sheet.

Despite holding just a slim 7-4 advantage in shots and 4-3 in corner kicks, Cabrini held a solid 2-0 lead at the halftime break.

Cabrini added to its lead in the 59th minute on another corner kick. This time it was senior Nick Booth's service that found Cunningham rising above the defense for his third goal of the campaign.

The Cavaliers put the win on ice in the 73rd minute, as Rafter found sophomore Kevin Davis for his second goal of the year.

The Blue and White maintained their slim advantage in shots through the second half, attempting 11 to the Saints' seven, with Booth, Cunningham and LoBiondo recording two each.

Graham finished the night with three saves, as he improved to 8-0 on the season with his first career clean sheet.
