Men's Soccer Closes Campaign with 5-1 Win

IMMACULATA, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team put a bow on its 2020-21 season today with a convincing 5-1 victory at Immaculata to close the campaign with a 2-0 mark.

The win avenged the Blue and White's last defeat, a 4-3 loss to the Mighty Macs in the 2019 Atlantic East Conference championship game.

Despite being outshot 17-14 on the day, the Cavaliers made the most of their chances, especially in the first half when they scored four goals on just eight shots.

Sophomore Jake Scully put Cabrini on the board in the 13th minute with his first career goal, connecting on a pass from junior Nick Booth. The advantage lasted just four minutes, as Immaculata's John Bohrer evened the score in the 17th minutes.

Booth added to his stat line in the 19th minute, as his service found junior Josh Cunningham to put the Blue and White ahead for good.

The lead swelled to 3-1 in the 27th minute when sophomore John Ameyaw found classmate Tyler Tomlin. In the 35th minute sophomore Calvin Rolland found classmate Matt Duddy for a marker, giving the visitors a 4-1 lead their would carry into the halftime break.

The lead remained 4-1 until the game's final minute, when Rolland found freshman Nolan Hollaway for his first collegiate tally.

Senior goaltender Anthony Zampirri recorded four saves in 70 minutes of work to earn the victory.
