DOVER, DE – The Cavaliers grabbed an early lead, but could make it stand, as the Cabrini softball season came to an end after today's 10-2 loss at Wesley in Game 2 of the Atlantic East Conference Championship Series.
The loss ends the Blue and White's season with a 17-8 mark, while the Wolverines improved to 23-5 with their 19th straight win.
The Cavaliers got on the board in the bottom of the first, as sophomore
Kaitlyn Martin notched a two out triple then scored on a wild pitch.
The lead was short lived, as Wesley senior Amanda Curry's two run home run in the top of the second put the Wolverines ahead for good. The home team doubled its lead in the third with its second two run blast of the day.

Wesley added a single run in the fourth, before putting the game away with five runs in the fifth.
The Cavaliers mustered just three hits on the day, with Martin accounting for two. Freshman pitcher Avery Burns fell to 9-4 in the picther's circle after allowing five earned runs on five hits in 4.1 innings with seven strike outs.
Wesley's senior pitcher Dori Loukopoulos was named Championship Game Most Valuable Player after holding Cabrini to two earned runs on three hits over five innings.
