Men's Soccer nets seven goals in win over Marywood

RADNOR, Pa. – Homestanding Cabrini scored three goals in the first 8:20 of the match as the Cavaliers (4-6-3, 1-1 Atlantic East) downed Marywood (6-6, 1-1 Atlantic East) 7-1 on Saturday afternoon in men's soccer action.

Junior midfielder Nick LoBiondo netted two goals for the Cavs, who scored seven goals in a contest for the first time since October 5, 2016. Freshman midfielder Brian Sharkey scored two goals as well, as the Cavs had a 26-6 edge on shots.

Sharkey got the scoring started in the fourth minute, as he scored off a rebound of his own missed penalty kick, followed by LoBiondo scoring in the sixth minute on an assist by senior defender Jake Scully.

The third goal came from freshman defender Dominic Petruzzelli on assists by junior midfielder Nolan Holloway and junior midfielder Cormac Dooley at 8:20 for the 3-0 lead.

Senior forward Matt Duddy would score on an assist from LoBiondo right before halftime for a 4-0 lead.

Cabrini scored two goals within a span of 37 seconds in the second half as Holloway and LiBiondo scored at 47:13 and 47:50. Freshman defender Tyler Gryckiewicz and freshman midfielder Hunter Rolles added assists.

Junior MJ Graham made two saves in 69 minutes, while freshman Mateo Gularte played the final 21 minutes in goal.

Cabrini travels to Centenary on Wednesday.
