WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Cabrini University men's swimming team is in fourth after Day Two of the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College.
With one day remaining, the Cavs have 606 points, 109 points behind third place SUNY-Oneonta.
Day two was highlighted by Tommy Ronayne setting a new school record in the 500 freestyle in the morning session with a time of 4:43.94. He won the event by .15 over Hazen Stowell of Hood. His time set a new meet record, breaking the previous one of 4:48.01 set in 2019.
In the morning session, the team of Colin Taggart, Ronayne, Michael Gray and Mac Granto were fourth in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:29.88.
Chris LaBianco was seventh in the 500 free at 5:17.08.
In the 200 IM, Kenny Lok was seventh at 2:10.24.
In the 50 free, Great took third with a 22.46, Taggart was fourth at 22.64. Granto finished in 14th at 23.25 followed by Travers in 24th at 24.21.
Taggart, Gray, Ronayne and Granto took third in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:42.80.
In the afternoon session, Ronayne continued his hot day with a second place finish in the 400 IM at 4:11.12, with LaBianco in seventh at 4:52.93.
Matt Seifried was fourth in the 200 free at 1:48.52, followed by Granto in fifth 1:49.35.
Gray finished fourth in the 100 breast at 1:01.22, with Travers in ninth at 1:04.34.
In the 100 back, Lok was sixth at 59.37, followed by Taggart in seventh at 1:00.04.
Cabrini capped the night with a second place finish in the 800 free relay with Gray, Seifried, Granto and Ronayne finishing second at 7:12.49, just one second off the leader.
The meet concludes on Sunday.
