ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Undefeated Elizabethtown outscored Cabrini 23-6 in the second quarter, as the Blue Jays (7-0) handed the Cavs (2-8) a 69-42 setback Sunday afternoon in non-conference women's basketball action.
Brielle Fitzpatrick had a team-high 14 points on the afternoon, while Abby Paolini had nine and Miranda Liebtag added in eight.
Elizabethtown got 19 points from DaniRae Renno and 18 points from Summer McNulty in the win.
Cabrini started the game on a 7-2 run, taking its largest of the game at 7-2 on layup by Fitzpatrick with 7:26 left in the opening stanza. After the Blue Jays scored the next eight points, a three-pointer by Emma Pyne tied the score at 10-all with 4:50 left in the first quarter.
Another jumper by Fitzpatrick – this time with 45 seconds left in the quarter – gave Cabrini a 12-11 lead.
Elizabethtown shot 50 percent (10-for-20) in the second quarter to break the game open, taking a 36-18 lead and never looking back.
Fitzpatrick and Leibtag each had six rebounds on the day, with Fitzpatrick getting three steals.
Cabrini is off for the week with Final Exams, and will next be in action on Tuesday, December 20, hosting DeSales.
