RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's tennis team played it's first matchup of the year but dropped a nonconference tilt to the visitng Rowan College of Gloucester County Roadrunners by a 9-0 final.
The Roadrunners tallied strong match wins in doubles play as they took an 8-0 decision in the No. 2 flight. Senior's
Max Schneider and
Ryan Calderaro recorded three game wins, but were ultimately edged by an 8-3 final. In the third flight of the day, senior
Jonathan Papp and junior
Tien Tran recorded two wins apiece.
Schneider was the lone Cavalier to win a set in singles play, after falling , 6-2 in his opening set Schneider earned a 6-3 victory in the second set but was eventually toppled in the tiebreaker.
The trio of Papp (6-1, 6-2), Calderaro (6-1, 6-1) as well as freshman Trug Tran (6-0, 6-1) rounded out the Cavs with at least one game wins but each ultimately fell in two sets.
Tien as well as junior
Tony Pietrewicz fell by 6-0, 6-0 finals in No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Following today match, the Blue and White are 0-1 overall. They will look to get back on track on Wednesday, April 3
rd when they travel to Glenside, PA to face the Knights of Arcadia University. Match time has yet to be determined.
