CAMDEN, N.J. – Junior midfielder Nick LoBiondo's goal with just 3:24 left in regulation on a flurry in front of the goal propelled Cabrini (2-2-2) to its second straight win as the Cavaliers vanquished Rutgers-Camden (2-3-1) 2-1 in men's soccer action on Wednesday night.
LoBiondo's goal, his second straight game-winner, came on an assist from freshman midfielder Brian Sharkey as the Cavaliers are now unbeaten in their last four.
The Cavs found themselves down early 1-0, as Rutgers-Camden took the lead on a "own" goal. Cabrini responded right back as junior midfielder Nolan Holloway powered one in from the left side of the goal at 27 minutes exactly to knot the score at 1-all.
The Cabrini defense did the rest from there, holding the Scarlet Raptors to just one shot on goal in the second half, which was saved by junior MJ Graham for his lone save of the night.
The Cavaliers will make the short trip to Eastern on Saturday for the Battle of Eagle Road.
