SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cabrini University men's basketball team fell to Marywood University 79-57 Saturday afternoon at the Insalaco Arena.

The Cavaliers (5-11, 0-3 AEC) fell behind early as Marywood's Trevor Seitz hit a 3-point field goal to open the day's scoring. Cabrini answered back at the 16:56 mark as Ahmadu Sarnor hit a 3-pointer of his own. Soon after, the Pacers (7-9, 1-3) went on an 8-0 run to jump out to an 11-3 lead with 15:00 left in the half. The Cavs responded with their own 8-0 run as Aquil Stewart hit a triple to knot the contest at 11 apiece with 11:36 to play. The first half proved to be about offensive runs as the Pacers finished the half with an 11-2 run and a 10-7 run to take a 32-23 lead into the break.

In the opening minutes of the second half, three straight Cabrini layups made it a three-possession game, 40-31, with 17:15 left in regulation. Over the next four minutes, the Marywood offense put up 11 straight points to take a 51-31 lead. Twice in the half, the Cavs cut the deficit to 12, but a four-possession game was the closest Cabrini came as the Pacers outscored the Cavs 47-34 in the second half.

Stewart led all Cavs scorers on the afternoon as the sophomore put up 21 points, going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Sarnor added 17 points of his own and brought down 10 boards for his fourth double-double of the season.

Marywood's Brendan Franko led all offensive players on the floor as he tallied 25 points for the Pacers.
