Women's Basketball continues hot shooting in win over Marywood

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University women's basketball team continued its strong second half surge as the Cavs (10-11, 6-2 Atlantic East) defeated Marywood (12-9, 2-7 Atlantic East) 80-35 on Saturday afternoon.

The Cavs have now won eight out of their last team, and continued their grasp on second place in the Atlantic East as they enter the final two weeks of the season.

Miranda Liebtag led all scorers with 20 points on 8-for-16 shooting, while collecting seven rebounds. Abby Paolini scored 13 points, with Emma Pyne netting 12 in her first start of the season.

Nicole Villalta-Barrantes had 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds, with a season-high seven assists. Kai Williams added in nine points off the bench, part of 31 points on the afternoon from the reserves.

For Marywood, Olivia Ciullo had 12 points and nine rebounds to lead the Pacers.

The Cavs took control of the game early, scoring the contest's first 17 points over the beginning 6:20 and never looked back. They led 21-4 after one quarter of play, as Marywood shot 2-for-13 from the field.

Cabrini – unlike the cold temperatures outside – had hot shooting throughout the contest finishing the contest 32-for-64 for an even 50 percent from the field. The Cavs were 10-for-14 in the final ten minutes, and had a commanding 55-31 edge on the glass. Katie Rodriguez joined Liebtag with seven rebounds.

Cabrini will host Immaculata on Wednesday night in its next to last home game of the regular season.
