SALISBURY, Md. – The Cabrini University softball team dropped its doubleheader against No. 1-ranked Salisbury University Friday afternoon as the Cavaliers fell in Game 1 10-2 and then 9-0 in Game 2. 
 
The Cavaliers fell behind early Friday as the Seagulls took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on back-to-back homers. Two innings later, Salisbury plated two more to take a 4-0 lead after three. In the top of the fourth, the Cavs answered without a hit as Cabrini patiently drew two walks and the bases, leading to back-to-back RBI-groundouts from Avery Byrnes and Sydney Andrews. That would be all the Cavs could muster as the Seagulls scored six in the bottom half and then set down the Cavaliers in order in the fifth to take Game 1 10-2. 
 
Game 2 saw the Seagulls score in all four innings Salisbury came to the plate. The Cavaliers managed five hits, two from both Ariana Mirenda and Dorian Ilyes, but that was all as Salisbury pitching shut down the Cabrini offense and took Game 2 9-0. 
 
The Cavaliers return to action on Monday, April 17 as Cabrini hosts Widener University. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
