CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Cabrini University rowing team made its spring debut on Friday evening, as the Cavaliers took part in the Washington College Invitational. The regatta, initially set for Saturday, March 23, was moved up one day due to impending weather conditions.
Cabrini joined Wellesley College, Pacific Lutheran University, Bryn Mawr College, Stockton University, and host Washington College (Md.) on the Chester River course.
The Cavs competed in the Varsity Four+ event, finishing first with a time of 7:16.99 and placing ahead of Bryn Mawr (7:24.27) and Stockton (7:26.43) in the race.
Their lineup was coxswained by
Evelyn Sperry with
Michayla Amalfitano in the bow,
Elise Sperry in the 2-seat,
Marisa Canuso in the 3-seat, and
Sofia Costanzo seated stroke.

"It was a great way to start our final campaign and the team rowed a really good race leading from start to finish. It was awesome to see that all of the hard work we've put in during winter training is translating out on the water."
Rowing returns to Maryland on April 6th when they compete in St. Mary's City.
