How it Happened
- The Knights got on the board first in the top of the second on a soft contact single to left.Â
- The Cavs had a chance to bring runs across in the 3rd, a bases loaded, 2 out scenario. Cabrini would end the inning on a foul fly out the wind kept in front of the backstop.
- Cabrini scored their first run in the bottom of the fourth. Jon Sepe led off the inning by slicing a double to right field. Sepe made third on a wild pitch before Colton Narciso's sac fly to right scored him.
- Jaden Dickerson tripled with one out in the fifth, followed by a Ryan Dipper walk. The Cavs loaded the bases with 2 outs, but the inning would end on a flyout to center.
- Kai Cummings was relieved in the bottom of the sixth. He allowed just one run across 5 2/3 innings.
- Cabrini added a run in the bottom of the sixth. After a flurry of pickoff attempts, Jacob Roberts scored on a hit-and-run double from Dustin Sutton.
- Neumann evened the score 2-2 with a solo home run to left.Â
- The Cavaliers turned the game in their favor in the eighth inning. Jon Sepe led off with a single up the middle. With one out, Jacob Roberts walked to put men on first and second. Garrett Laraia looked to draw a stealthy infield single, but he'd only advance the runners on the try. Dustin Sutton was intentionally walked to load the bases with two outs. Jaden Dickerson singled to short as two Cavaliers crossed the plate. Dickerson then stole second before Ryan Dipper doubled down the left field line, scoring two more.
- Josh Colon retired the Knights in order in the ninth, striking out the last two. He'd be the pitcher of record for the Cavs' 13th win of the year.
