Women’s Lacrosse Storms Past Cyclones

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team defeated Centenary University for their fifth Atlantic East Conference victory of the season. The Cavaliers jumped out to a 13-0 first quarter lead, ultimately taking the contest by a 17-2 final. Cabrini has two games left before the AEC Tournament, the first being a home matchup with Immaculata on Saturday.

Scoring
-Morgan McClintock led all goalscorers with 4, as Olivia Pace and Caroline Gallagher had 3. Krista Geibler and Whitney Hershey netted 2 goals, while Olivia Little, Neve Murphy, and Cassidy Starner had 1.
-Olivia Little added 5 assists, followed by Morgan McClintock with 3 and Alena Catka with 2. Tessa Vannello, Cassidy Starner, Neve Murphy, and Caroline Gallagher each contributed a helper.

Defensive
-Morgan McClintock earned 3 caused turnovers as Alena Catka had 2. Seven Cavaliers forced a single caused turnover: Moira Ward, Sammie Voelker, Cassidy Starner, Neve Murphy, Olivia Pace, Caroline Gallagher, and Susie Miller.

  • Cabrini took early control of the contest, netting six goals in the first four minutes. 
  • The Cavaliers scored seven more times before the end of the first quarter, including a stretch of three consecutive shorthanded goals.
  • Centenary scored to open the second quarter and netted their second goal just before halftime. The Cyclones' goals were separated by a pair of Cabrini scores.
  • The Cavaliers scored once in each of the final two frames, taking the game by a 17-2 final.
