Turf Field Transformation

The brand-new all-weather Dixon Field

The brand-new, state-of-the-art, all-weather mini-stadium features seating for 700 fans, lights for night games, a press box, landscaping, and fencing.

First the old field had to be leveled.

Then the foundation for the new field had to be dug.

The 1.3 million-dollar project was funded by Cabrini's alumni, students, faculty, and friends.

After the ground was prepared...

...layers of weather-resistant tarp,...

...gravel, and rubber were laid on top before the field surface was laid down.

New lights for night games and a new press box

The field will be home to Cabrini's lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey teams, as well as serving clubs and intramurals.

The field itself features Sprinturf, the artificial surface found at
Penn's Franklin Field and the Philadelphia Eagles' training center.
