Jay Goodson joined the men’s basketball staff in July 2021.
Goodson made his jump into coaching after four years as the manager of the La Salle University men’s basketball team, where his responsibilities, included coordinating team practices and travel, recording team practices and fostering relationships with potential recruits.
Goodson began his coaching career as a AAU coach with South Jersey Elite Hoops, where he coaches Under-17 and Under-16 teams in the Hoop Group circuit.
A four-year student-athlete at Cherry Hill West High School, Goodson caught the coaching bug in high school, as he was a coaching intern at both the Hoop Group and University of Pennsylvania Basketball Camps.
In addition to teaching skills, Goodson also prepared video for player evaluations, organized and coached teams. At Penn, Goodson also assisted with the program’s summer recruiting and elite camps.
An avid volunteer in his South Jersey community, Goodson earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from La Salle in 2020.
