Brian Sugden '13

Brian Sugden '13 was named interim men's and women's cross country coach in July 2017 before having the interim tag removed in July 2018.

While posting seventh and eighth place finishes for the women's and men's teams, respectively, at the inaugural Atlantic East Conference Championship Meet, Sugden helped sophomore Shaiann Lyde enter the program history Book. Lyde finished 14th at the season-ending meet, becoming the first Cabrini women's cross country student-athlete to earn all-conference honors since Diane Gapinski in 2009.

In his first season as head coach, Sugden led Cabrini men to a fourth place finish at the season-ending CSAC championship, while the women finished ninth. Junior Andrew Sennett garnered second team All-CSAC honors with an 11th place finish, while classmate Mackenzie Patterson, meanwhile claimed a 26th place finish, narrowly missing All-CSAC honors, to lead the women.

Sugden makes the move to the coaching ranks after assisting with the Cavaliers’ Athletics Communication department, where he was assistant sports information director from 2013-16.

Sugden was a member of the Blue and White cross country team for two seasons under former head coach Tom O’Hora.  Sugden graduated from Cabrini in 2013 with a degree in Communications.
