Joe Dare

Joe Dare was named Cabrini's second cross country coach in April 2014.  He will enter his third season at the helm of the program in 2016-17.

After leading the women's team to a victory at the Penn State Brandywine Invitational, Dare and the Cavaliers battled some of the top teams in the region at events like the Rowan Inter-Border Battle and the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.  The Blue and White closed the season witha pair of sixth place finishes at the CSAC Championships.  Freshman Andrew Sennett earned All-CSAC Second Team honors after his 10th place finish, while sophomore Emily Lauziere finished 15th to pace the women.

In his first season, the Cavaliers' men's and women's teams earned top five finishes at the Penn State Barandywine Invitational and the Lancaster Bible College Homecoming Invitational.  The clubs closed the campaign with sixth and seventh place finishes at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championships, respectively.

Dare comes to Cabrini after a stint at St. Joseph’s University, where he was a volunteer assistant cross country coach.  Among his responsibilities were recruiting, runner development and organizing practices.  During his time at St. Joe’s Dare coached an All-American in the 10K and saw three school records fall.  Dare also spent time as an assistant coach at La Salle University and Souderton Area High School.

Dare was an accomplished student-athlete during his collegiate career at La Salle, where he ran cross country and track.  During his years as an Explorer, La Salle captured the 2004 and 2006 Atlantic 10 Cross Country championships.  Dare was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Cross Country First Team in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and earned all-region accolades in 2005 and 2006.

Dare was also a three-time All-Atlantic 10 performer in track, earning accolades for the indoor 3,000 meters and outdoor 5,000 meter events.  In 2007, Dare was a NCAA national provisional qualifier for the 10,000 meters.  

The Drexel Hill, Pa. native earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2008.  Dare earned his USA Track and Field Level 2 coaching certification in endurance in 2015 and a Gamification Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 2013.

Dare also works for the Cabrini College Human Resources Department.
