Oscar Umar is in his first year as an assistant coach with the men's soccer team in 2016-17.
Umar is a 2015 graduate from Villanova University, where he earned four varsity letters and served as a team captain as a senior. He helped lead his team to Big East Tournaments appearances in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
Umar was named to the All-Big East Third Team in 2012 and apreseason All-Big East selection in 2013.
A native of Ghana, he came to the Kent School and made a major impact on the soccer program. In 2008, Umar led the Kent School to its first playoff appearance in more than two decades and appeared in the New England Prep School Finals in 2009 and 2010.
