Maggie McElroy ’14 returned to Cabrini family in June 2018 as the Athletics Office Specialist and assistant women's basketball coach.
No stranger to Cabrini University, McElroy was a decorated student-athlete at Cabrini, graduating in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. During her for years in the Blue and White, McElroy was a member of 2013 and 2014 Colonial States Athletic Conference champion women’s basketball team and a member of the women’s track team.
McElroy was the definition of a student-athlete, as she was named to the CSAC All-Academic Team in each of her four years, while serving on the Cabrini Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Relay for Life committees, among others.
McElroy comes to Cabrini after a two-year stint as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Dickinson College, where she assisted in all facets of a Division III athletic program, including recruiting, practice planning, travel coordination and uniform design and ordering.
In addition to working with the Dickinson SAAC, McElroy’s responsibilities also reached across the campus, as she worked with Admissions and Marketing to create recruiting materials for prospective student-athletes, families and alumnae, while planning recruiting visits to the College’s Carlisle, PA campus.
Following her graduation from Cabrini, McElroy spent two years as a graduate assistant women’s basketball coach at Goucher College in Baltimore, where she assisted with recruiting, practice planning, monitoring academic performance, travel, community service and other administrative duties.
While coaching at Goucher, McElroy also spent a semester at Division I Towson University as a graduate intern in the Compliance Department. While at Towson, McElroy assisted with day to day operation of the department, including NCAA rules education for coaches and staff, monitoring academic performance, game day management and community service.
McElroy also received a master’s degree in Athletic Administration and Leadership from Goucher in 2016.
