Philip Campbell, EdD

Instructor, Education

Philip Campbell joined Cabrini faculty in 2013, but his experience with the College didn’t start there.

He attended Cabrini for his post-baccalaureate certification in the 1990s.

Campbell’s research interests include adolescent literacy practices and pre-service inquiry. He has presented on these topics at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Urban Ethnography, at the sixth annual Diverse Literacies Conference at Penn State Lehigh Valley, and at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, to name a few.

In his spare time, Campbell serves as Chairman of the Board for a nonprofit hip-hop education program called Blackboard Labs. Located in Philadelphia, its mission is to provide youth ages 13-19 with the opportunity to explore and create hip-hop music related to social justice.

Campbell earned a bachelor’s in political science at Villanova University, a post-baccalaureate certification in elementary education at Cabrini College, a master’s in educational leadership and curriculum supervision at St. Joseph’s University, and a doctorate of education in reading, writing and literacy at the University of Pennsylvania.
