Kate Corcoran was named Director of Athletics and Recreation in December 2021 after serving as Interim AD for five months.

No stranger to the Cavaliers, Corcoran returned to Cabrini in April 2016 as Associate Director of Athletics and was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator (SWA) in November 2020. Corcoran was then named Interim Director of Athletics in July 2021, following the departure of Brad Koch.

During her short stint as Interim AD, Corcoran oversaw the complete return of Cabrini’s intercollegiate athletic teams, the transition to Rothman Orthopedic for athletic training services and overseeing a fall season that saw the Blue and White capture four Atlantic East Conference titles.

This is Corcoran's second stint at Cabrini, as she spent three years on the Blue and White bench under former head coach Darlene Hildebrand, while acting as the facility director for the Dixon Center and as assistant to former athletic director John Dzik.

As Sr. Associate AD, Corcoran's focused on compliance, scheduling and fundraising, while overseeing operational aspects of Cabrini's intercollegiate golf, tennis and field hockey programs.

Corcoran managed all athletic facilities, events, scheduling for all 19 varsity athletic programs and NCAA compliance, while providing oversight of the department's business, sports information and travel operations.

As SWA, Corcoran was the highest ranking female administrator in the department. Created by the NCAA in 1981, the SWA promotes meaningful representation of women in the leadership and management of college sports and provides enhanced quality of decision making from the inclusion of a diverse perspective.

In addition, she assisted the Office of Institutional Advancement with athletic fundraising, as well as oversees the program's marketing and sponsorship efforts, and serves as the sport-specific administrator for the golf and men's and women's tennis programs.

A highly accomplished and recognized administrator, Corcoran completed the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) Institution for Administrative Advancement in 2012, served on the NCAA Division III Membership Committee from 2012-15 and was one of 23 Division I, II and III administrators selected for the 2016-17 NCAA Pathway Program, an unprecedented opportunity to gain insight into every facet of an athletics department which prepares participants to become well-rounded leaders in intercollegiate athletics.

In 2020, Corcoran's career took another step, as she was named to the NCAA Division III Management Council, a body that reports directly to the Presidents Council and handles the implementation of policies adopted by the Association’s Board of Governors and Division III Presidents Council.

As a member of the Division III Management Council, Corcoran also serves on the NCAA Div. III Financial Aid Committee, the NCAA Div. III Convention and Planning Subcommittee and the NCAA Sportsmanship Ethical Conduct Committee.

Corcoran returned to Cabrini after nearly six years as Assistant Director of Athletics and SWA at Rosemont College.  At Rosemont, Corcoran was the main Division III Compliance educator for the student-athletes and coaches in the Ravens’ 13 intercollegiate programs.

Corcoran was also responsible for athletic scheduling, game day management, athletic facility rentals, coordinating travel and meals and serving as the athletic department’s liaison with various departments across campus.

Corcoran also worked closely with Rosemont’s Director of Athletics Lynn Rothenhoefer in annual reviews of coaching staff and various Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) administrative groups.

Corcoran was also responsible for writing, hiring and serving as the direct report for the Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Student Services, which was funded by the NCAA Internship Grant.

Prior to her years at Rosemont, Corcoran served as SWA, Compliance Officer and Sports Information Director at Penn State University Berks.  Corcoran played an important part in completion of the University’s NCAA Provisional Membership and advancement to full NCAA Division III membership in August 2009.

Aside from her administrative duties, Corcoran served as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Vice-Chair of the Senior Woman’s Administrator Committee and Chair of the Sports Information Director’s Committee.

No stranger to the Division III model, Corcoran was a stand-out four year women’s basketball student-athlete at DeSales University, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Business Administration in 2000.

She was named to the All-Freedom Conference First-Team (1999, 2000), was named the Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (LVAIAW) Player of the Year (2000), was named to the WBCA Mid-Atlantic Region First-Team (2000), and WBCA Honorable-Mention All-American (2000).

An inductee of the DeSales University and Middle Atlantic Conference Halls of Fame, Corcoran scored 1,097 career points which currently ranks 17th all-time and is also still ranked among the all-time leaders in field goals made, three-pointers made, three-point shooting percentage, free throw percentage, assists, steals, and blocked shots.

She earned her Master’s in Business Administration and a Certificate in Strategic Management for Women from Rosemont College in 2012.
