Eric Schaefer

Eric Schaefer begins his second season as the head volleyball coach at Cabrini after coaching local high school teams for the past 12 years. 

In Schaefer's inaugural season with the Cavaliers, Cabrini boasted a 19-8 overall record and a 9-2 mark in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) play. He guided Stephanie Recklau to PAC Rookie of the Year and First Team honors. Lindsey Martin and Lizzie Williams garnered second team and honorable mention accolades, respectively.

Before joining the Cavaliers, Schaefer spent the 10 seasons prior as the boys' varsity volleyball coach at Haverford High School, his alma mater. Additionally, he served as the girls' varsity volleyball coach for six seasons, representing the Central League at the PIAA District I Tournament every year. 

In both 2004 and 2007, he was named the Coach of the Year for the Independent Boys’ Volleyball League. In 2005, his Haverford girls' squad was awarded the Central League Sportsmanship Award.

He is the co-director of the Mayhem Volleyball Club and has coached with the Valley Forge Volleyball Club for three years, leading the 15-and-under team to a regional championship in 2007.

Prior to his tenure at Haverford, Schaefer spent two years as the girls’ varsity coach at Radnor High School and also spent two seasons working with both the girls' varsity and junior varsity teams at The Shipley School.

Schaefer earned a bachelor’s degree in education from East Stroudsburg University in 1996 and received his master’s degree in education from Wilkes University in 2005.  He teaches health and physical education at Haverford High School.
