RADNOR, Pa. (October 20) – The Cabrini College men’s soccer team suffered a 4-0 shutout loss to Eastern University this evening. The loss drops the Cavaliers to 15-3, 6-2 in the PAC while the Eagles improve to 10-4-1, 5-1-1 in the league.
The Cavaliers were outshot 14-4 but garnered five corner kicks to the Eagles’ two.
Just three minutes before the end of the first half, the Eagles took a 1-0 lead when Lance Burris made a lateral pass from the far right side to just inside the right goalpost and Cliff Gehret slipped the ball past the Cabrini goalkeeper.
At the 57:02 mark, Aaron Tritch gathered a deflection and fired into the empty net. Five minutes later, Gehret added his second tally of the game, scoring from 15-yards out, and with just over two minutes remaining in the contest, Scott Patrick set the final margin with the unassisted tally.
Sophomore
Bryan Johnson suffered the loss in the net for Cabrini, giving up three goals and making three saves, in 68:40 minutes of play before Colin Hinklemon played the final 21:20 and allowed one goal and stopped two shots.
The Cavaliers face Hood College on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m. in their final regular season game of the year.
