Volleyball Wins Sixth Consecutive Match

RADNOR, Pa. (October 20) – Two players tallied double-digit kills as the Cabrini College volleyball team defeated Immaculata 3-0 (30-13, 30-23, 30-8) this afternoon.  With the win, Cabrini improves to 16-7, 7-2 in the PAC while the Mighty Macs fall to 4-16, 1-9 against the league.
 
The Cavaliers have now clinched the #3 seed in the upcoming PAC Championships and will host a first-round match.
 
Freshman Stephanie Recklau led all players with 12 kills, committing zero errors, and junior Lindsay Martin added 10 and a team-best nine digs.
 
Sophomore Lizzie Williams led the squad with 32 assists.
 
Both junior Kaitlyn Fetterman and sophomore Kate Conahan registered two block assists.
 
In the first game, Cabrini jumped to 5-0 lead off consecutive kills from Recklau before taking its first double-digit lead (17-7) with a kill from sophomore Traci Beltz.  The Cavaliers ended with a 13-6 scoring run to claim the win.
 
Immaculata trailed 5-4 off a Cavalier mistake in the second game and stayed within four points before a kill from Martin gave Cabrini a 20-15 edge.  IThe Mighty Macs twice cut their deficit to just two but a Martin kill gave the Cavaliers the victory.
 
In game three, Williams served eight straight points as Cabrini built a 9-0 edge and dominated the rest of the way in the 22-point win.
 
Cabrini ended with a .352 attack percentage and recorded 14 service aces. 
 
The Cavaliers face College of Notre Dame on Monday, October 22 at 7 p.m.
