RADNOR, Pa. (October 27) – Junior
Lindsay Martin tallied a team-best 15 kills as the Cabrini College volleyball team blanked Marywood University 3-0 (30-23, 30-20, 30-22) this afternoon in its final regular season match of the year. The Cavaliers improve to 18-7, 9-2 in the PAC while the Pacers drop to 7-17, 3-8 against the league.
With its 18th win, Cabrini is just one win shy of equaling the program record for single season wins.
Martin posted her eighth double-double of the season with 10 digs and added four service aces. Freshman
Stephanie Recklau also tallied double-digit kills with 10 and posted two block solos and one block assist.
After a 7-7 tie in the first game, Cabrini rattled off five unanswered points, from four Marywood mistakes and a kill from junior
Kaitlyn Fetterman. The Cavaliers took a seven-point lead (21-14) with another Fetterman kill before earning the seven point win.
In the second game, Cabrini held the advantage throughout the entirety of the match, building a double-digit lead (22-11) off consecutive service aces from sophomore
Traci Beltz.
Following three early tie scores in the third game, Cabrini held a 15-9 edge after back-to-back kills from
Stephanie Recklau. The Pacers cut the deficit to just three (24-21) before the Cavaliers held on for the win.
Cabrini, earning a #3 seed in the upcoming PAC Championships, will host the yet to be decided number six seed on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
