RADNOR, Pa. (December 1) – Senior
Randy Reid grabbed his 500
th career rebound and recorded his first double-double of the season as the Cabrini College men’s basketball team held off Centenary College for an 86-67 victory this afternoon. The Cavaliers improve to 2-3, 1-1 in the PAC while the Cyclones drop to 1-5, 0-2 in the league.
Reid tallied 14 points and a team-best 10 rebounds, including four offensive, while freshman
Glenn Washington led the team with a 15-point performance, highlighted by four three-point field goals.
Senior
Bruce MacLelland also reached double-digits in the scoring column with 14 points and added two blocks.
The Cavaliers finished 35-of-81 from the field for 43.2% and connected on seven of fifteen, almost half, of their three-point shots.
"We are very excited to get our first PAC win of the season," Cabrini head coach Greg Herenda said. "Our defense continues to play strong, with 22 steals today, and we were much more agressive on the offensive end of the court.
In the first half, Cabrini took its first double-digit lead (18-7) at the 13:30 mark off a lay-up from freshman
Dom Farrello. Over the next seven minutes of play, the Cavaliers used a 17-7 scoring to go in front by 21 points.

Lamar Fisher gave the Cavaliers their largest lead of the game (29) with just under three minutes remaining in the first half and Cabrini held a 50-25 lead at the break.
Cabrini maintained a 20+ point lead for the first part of the second period before Centenary scored ten unanswered points in a two-minute span to cut its deficit to 14 points.
The Cavaliers responded with six straight to return their advantage to 20 before earning the win.
Cabrini dominated on the boards, grabbing 50 rebounds, 24 offensive, to the Cyclones’ 37, and the
Cavaliers scored 38 second chance points.
The Cavaliers recorded 22 steals on the night.
Junior Andrew Baker led the visitors with a game-best 21 points and 14 rebounds.
The Cavaliers travel to Marywood on Monday, Dec. 3 for a 7 p.m. contest.
